A New Co-Publication Agreement between the Brookings Institution and Rowman & Littlefield

The Brookings Institution and Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group this week announced a new co-publishing partnership. Under the agreement, Rowman & Littlefield will produce, distribute, market, and sell Brookings Institution Press titles. Brookings Institution Press will continue to be responsible for acquisitions and editorial review. Clarke & Esposito had the privilege of working with Brookings to help broker this noteworthy arrangement.

The Brookings Institution is among the oldest and most respected public policy and research organizations in the United States, and its Brooking Institution Press has long supported the mission of the organization through the publication of over 30 notable political science and public policy titles annually. Rowman & Littlefield is a well-regarded independent publisher that shares a Washington, DC locale with Brookings. Its portfolio spans nonfiction, textbooks, academic scholarship and reference, and professional titles.

Brookings’ decision to work with Rowman & Littlefield followed a competitive request for proposal process supported by C&E. Brookings Institution Press will begin with Rowman & Littlefield immediately, with Rowman & Littlefield assuming sales and distribution responsibilities in November 2022.
